Verb - The Action Word
Most sentences tell us about some work being done or an action taking place. Like:
1. Mother is cooking in the kitchen.
2. Ram is fighting with a demon.
3. Radha is singing a song.
4. Aryan is painting.
Cooking, fighting, singing and painting are actions.
They may also be called action words.
In the sentences, they show the work that is being done.
Normally, the work is done by the noun.
These action words are called Verbs.
A verb may tell us:
1. What a person or thing is doing.
Hari is writing a letter.
Nina is reading a book.
2. What is done to a person or thing.
Hari is scolded by his mother.
The window was broken.
